Today we discuss about the ten cricketers who represent England players in IPL 2021. While Jofra Archer was a hit in the last edition of Indian Premier League, most of the other England players hadn’t had such a great time, except Sam Curran. Today’s list has bowler, batsmen, all-rounders and even wicket-keeper batsman, these are England players in IPL 2021. Here we detail who they are:
Sam Curran
The Left handed all-rounder was as good as he could be for a franchise which had as poor a season as it could be. Sam Curran was among those positives that the MS Dhoni side would like to keep in the upcoming edition as well, if they have to have a better season this summer. A good bowler and a useful lower order batsman is something any team can get balance from, and that is what Sam Curran is as he would be among the England players in IPL 2021 who would get important roles with their teams.
Moeen Ali
The all-rounder is among the players who could be really important for the MS Dhoni‘s Chennai Super Kings this season. With Harbhajan Singh released this season, Chennai would expect to fill in for the experienced pro. A decent off break bowler and a useful batsman is something the side would expect a lot from as he would be among the England players in IPL 2021, though the 4 overseas players limit in the playing XI is something that Dhoni has to work with.
Chris Woakes
The right handed all-rounder, Christopher Roger Woakes, is still trying to get his feet settled in the Indian Premier league and he would like to get that chance in the upcoming edition so his career in the league T20 cricket take off finally. A good bowler and a useful hitter down the order hasn’t yet guaranteed his chances into the playing XI of Delhi Capitals though he would be among the England players in IPL 2021.
Tom Curran
The England All-rounder and elder brother of Sam Curran was part of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2018 but a poor season meant he didn’t feature in many matches. Next season he played was in IPL 2020 with Rajasthan Royals where he scored a fifty with bat as well apart from picking wickets, though the 4 overseas player limit kept him limited on match numbers. This season, Tom is part of Delhi Capitals as he would be among the England players in IPL 2021 but with Rabada, Nortje & Stoinis almost certain to be in playing XI, he would compete with the likes of Steve Smith & Chris Woakes to get a match.
Sam Billings
The Wicketkeeper-Batsman has played for Chennai Super Kings & Delhi Daredevils previously in Indian Premier League cricket. Billings is part of the Delhi Capitals side this season as he would be the reserve wicket-keeper for Rishabh Pant for the season though he also falls under the 4th overseas player competition, something which will keep Delhi based franchise from utilising their resources. Sam would be among the England players in IPL 2021 who may get lucky for their teams.
Jonny Bairstow (wk)
The Wicketkeeper-Batsman was woefully out of touch in the test matches recently but came out good in ODIs against India. Jonny could be a driving force for the Sunrisers Hyderabad this season but it will be interesting to see the playing XI of the side as David Warner & Kane Williamson are the two overseas players who would get the most matches, Bairstow would compete for the 3rd place this season as he would be among the top England players in IPL 2021 who could get important roles with their teams.
Chris Jordan
The Punjab Kings all-rounder would, most certainly support the death bowling of his franchise side along with some lusty hitting down the order and that is what Chris Jordan’s role could be as he would be among the England players in IPL 2021 who would get important roles with their teams.
Dawid Malan
The Left handed Batsman went up to lead the T20I rankings of batsmen recently and Dawid Johannes Malan will be debuting in Indian Premier League this season. Dawid is part of the Punjab Kings Franchise and he could be the accelerator the team would be looking for this season as he would be among the England players in IPL 2021 who would get important roles with their team.
Eoin Morgan
The Left handed batsman has a great cricketing mind and rightly so, he was upgraded from his role as a middle order batsman to lead the Kolkata Knight Riders team. Eoin Morgan would be among the top few England players in IPL 2021 who would be having important roles with their teams.
Ben Cutting
The right handed all-rounder could be another important member of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise this summer as he would be among the England players in IPL 2021. With Kolkata having Eoin Morgan & Andre Russell who are almost certain to play, Lockie Fergusson & Sunil Narine may make it tough for Cutting in the Playing XI.
Jos Buttler (wk)
The Wicket-keeper batsman is in amazing form these days and he could be one of the top scorers this season. But there is one thing that may spoil his plans; the fact that Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes are certain to get as many games as they are available for. Well, recent injuries to Archer could help Buttler’s case, but then the franchise depend on overseas firepower in their front line pace bowling unit. Buttler would be among the England players in IPL 2021 who could get important roles with their teams.
Ben Stokes
The Amazing all-rounder was as good as he could be for Rajasthan Royals last season, but still scored a hundred and a fifty plus score. A good bowler and an top order batsman is something that makes stokes a prize possession for any side as he would be among the England players in IPL 2021 who would get important roles with their teams
Jofra Archer
The Pace bowler is doubtful to starting matches in Indian Premier League 2021 after incurring injury in the match against India. A genuine wicket-taker who was listed in the top 10 list last season and a useful lower order batsman is something any team can bank on in their title campaign as he would be among the England players in IPL 2021 who would get important roles with their team, if he gets well in time.
Liam Livingstone
The Right handed stroke player would be another cricketer who would keep the newly appointed captain Sanju Samson busy as he is the fourth England player in his franchise team. An aggressive batsman, Liam Livingstone could be among the featured England players in IPL 2021, but then you don’t know how many games he’ll get during the season.
Phase 2 in UAE, Withdrawals & Replacements:
Due to corona outbreak in India, the season was stopped post Match number 29 and all the remaining matches were shifted out of India to be held during September-October at UAE. With the changes in season schedules, there were withdrawals and new additions to the squads. Chris Woakes, Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes & Jofra Archer withdrew while Adil Rashid & George Garton joined the other England Players in the league.
These were the fourteen England Cricketers in IPL 2021 season. This is it for today! Hope your liked the content; don’t forget to put in your thoughts & questions as comments.
