Profile | Eoin Joseph Gerard Morgan is an English cricketer, who captains the England cricket team in limited overs cricket. He is an Irish-born by nationality and used to play for the National Irish Cricket team as well from 2003 to 2009. Eoin Morgan has played in test format for a few years but currently, appears in the shorter formats of the game. He has represented the Middlesex squad in country cricket and also played for Ireland at the Under-19 World Cup. He has captained the Ireland U-19 team in the World Cup 2004 and became the highest run scorer of the tournament as well. Morgan was born in Dublin in 1986 and stayed there for schooling and primary cricket coaching. After living a successful cricket career in Ireland, Morgan moved to the England national cricket team in 2009 and has played for all three formats from the beginning. He is a left-handed middle-order batsman who is regarded mostly for his skillful reverse sweep. He has gained immense popularity in shorter formats of the game especially, due to his free-scoring style. Apart from being a wonderful batsman, Eoin Morgan is also known for his calm and composed nature under-pressure situations. He is one of those rare cricketers who have played for more than one international team. Eoin Morgan is a skilled wicketkeeper for ODI matches as well. His success rate in limited overs games has made him one of the best ever batsmen of the national team. He began his IPL career with Royal Challenger Bangalore and continued it with three other leading squads of IPL till 2017. Morgan has represented the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League in 2018. Currently, he is named in the ICC World Cup Team of England 2019 for his undeniable batting & captaincy in the shorter format of this game.
