Today we bring you the Asian Cricketers who scored the most runs in Asia Cup 2018. The Asia Cup UAE 2018 was played in September 2018, thirteen matches were played during September 15- 28, 2018. This was the fourteenth edition of the continental cricket tournament run by Asian Cricket Council. six teams were part of the Asia Cup 2018 viz. India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Hong Kong & Sri Lanka. India won their 7th title at the tournament. Here we discuss the batsmen who hit the most runs in Asia Cup 2018.
5. Hashmatullah Shahidi (Afghanistan)
Afghanistan top order batsman Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 263 runs from the 5 matches Afghanistan played in the tournament with an average of 65.75 and best score of 97 not out coming against Pakistan at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on September 21. With this run aggregate, Shahidi featured among the top 5 list of most runs in Asia Cup 2018.
Afghanistan had won the toss and were batting first. Shahidi came out after fall of the Mohammad Shahzad and took his team to 257/6 from their 50 overs. Asghar Afghan scored 67. Pakistan, however, chased down the target with 3 balls & 3 wickets remaining. Imam-ul-Haq & Babar Azam scored 80 & 66 respectively, while Shoaib Malik scored 51 not out.

4. Mohammad Shahzad (Afghanistan)
Afghanistan’s WK- Opening Batsman Mohammad Shahzad scored 268 runs from the 5 matches he played in the tournament with an average of 53.60 and best score of 124 coming against India on September 25. With this run aggregate, Mohammad Shahzad Mohammadi featured among the top 5 list of most runs in Asia Cup 2018.
Afghanistan had won the toss and were batting first. They made 252/8 from their overs with Shahzad’s 124 & Mohammad Nabi’s 64. The match ended in a tie with India getting bowled out for 252 in 49.5 overs. KL Rahul & Ambati Rayudu scored 60 & 57 respectively, while Dinesh Karthik scored 44.

3. Mushfiqur Rahim (Bangladesh)
Bangladesh’ WK- Batsman Mushfiqur Rahim scored 302 runs from the five matches at an average of 60.40 and best score of 144 coming against Sri Lanka in the first match on September 15 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. With this run aggregate, Rahim featured among the top 5 list of most runs in Asia Cup 2018.
With Rahim’s 144 & Mithun’s 63, Bangladesh set a target of 261 for the Sri Lankans which they couldn’t chase as they were bowled out for 124. Mashrafe Mortaza, Mustafizur Rahman & Mehidy Hasan each picked two wickets while Shakib Al Hasan, Rubel Hossain & Mosaddek Hossain each picked one.

2. Rohit Sharma (India)
India’s star batsman Rohit Sharma scored 317 runs from the five matches India played in the tournament with an average of 105.66 and best score of 111 not out coming against Pakistan on September 23 in the tournament Super Four at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. His runs would include a century & two half-centuries and with this run aggregate, Rohit Gurunath Sharma featured among the top 5 list of most runs in Asia Cup 2018.
Pakistan batted first after winning the toss and they scored 237/7 with Shoaib Malik scoring 78. India made the target look pretty small winning it with 9 wickets intact as both their openers scored centuries, one even carrying his bat through the innings. Pakistan could only get Dhawan, who was run out.

1. Shikhar Dhawan (India)
Indian Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan scored 342 runs from the five matches India played in the tournament with an average of 68.40 and best score of 127 coming against Hong Kong in the fourth match on September 18. His runs would include two centuries and with this run aggregate, Dhawan led the top 5 list of most runs in Asia Cup 2018.
With Dhawan’s hundred & 60 from Ambati Rayudu, India made 285/7. Hong Kong couldn’t reach the target and couldn’t go beyond 259/8. Nizakat Khan & Captain Anshy Rath scored fine half centuries but the team couldn’t do much against Khaleel Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal & Kuldeep Yadav.
These were the top scorers in the 14th edition of the Asia Cup, in 2018. It was a round robin group stage with 6 teams divided in two groups with each team playing once against one another, top two would go to semifinals followed by the tournament final.
