Profile | Mehidy Hasan is an International Bangladeshi cricketer who plays for all three formats of the game. He has been playing from the national side of Bangladesh since 2016 and currently seen in ODI and Test formats only. He represents Rajshahi Division team in first-class cricket and played Kalabagan squad at domestic level. Mehidy Hasan is a young all-rounder of the Bangladeshi squad who bats right-handed and bowls in off-break style. He started playing cricket from an early age of 8 and took his professional training of cricket from the Kashipur Cricket Academy. He appeared in Under-14 National Cricket Tournament at the beginning of his career and got a chance to affiliate with the Under-19 team of Bangladesh for his contribution in that tournament. It was the unbelievable success of Mehedi Hasan in Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2016 that gave him recognition in World cricket arena. He was declared ‘Player of the Tournament’ for scoring 242 runs and took 12 wickets in that U-19 World Cup. After his remarkable performance in U-19 WC, he got a chance to enter the national team of Bangladesh in the same following year. Mehidy Hasan made his international debut through a test match against England and started strengthening his place from the very first match of his career. Then he gradually completed his international debut in rest two formats consecutively in the next year 2017. Mehidy Hasan has become a crucial part of national Bangladesh squad for his impressive playing expertise. Apart from being a skilled middle-order batsman, he is a hugely talented spinner with unerring accuracy. However, a few cricket experts think that Mehidy Hasan should focus on his batting skills more vigilantly to become a perfect all-rounder for his team. This youngest Bangladeshi all-rounder was successfully named in the squad of Bangladesh for 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. |
