Dushmantha Chameera
The Right arm pace bowler was playing for Angelo Mathews led Colombo Kings in Lanka Premier league 2020. Pathira Vasan Dushmantha Chameera would play eight matches in the tournament edition picking 8 wickets at an average of 32 and strike rate of 20 almost. His best 2/27 would come against Dambulla Viiking at Hambantota in the match 7 of the T20 league tournament. Dushmantha Chameera would be spotted by the Royal Challengers Bangalore team for the phase 2 leg of Indian premier league as a replacement of Daniel Sams in their line up. Chameera, thus, represent the LPL Players in IPL 2021.
Wanindu Hasaranga
The all-round cricketer was playing for Thisara Perera led Jaffna Stallions in the 2020 edition of the Lanka Premier league. Pinnaduwage Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva would play ten matches in the tournament edition picking 17 wickets at an average of 11.29 and strike rate of 13 and score 127 runs with the best score of 41. His best match bowling of 3/15 would come against Dambulla Viiking at Hambantota in the semifinal match of the T20 league tournament.
His team Jaffna Stallions would go on to win the inaugural edition as he would finish as the highest wicket taker in the season. Wanindu Hasaranga would be spotted by the Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore team for the phase 2 leg of Indian premier league as a replacement of Adam Zampa in their line up. Hasaranga would represent the LPL Players in IPL 2021.
Andre Russell
The West Indies All-rounder was part of the Colombo Kings squad in the 2020 edition of Lanka Premier league. Andre Dwayne Russell would score 169 runs from the 8 matches he played at an average little over 28 and strike rate of 194; would also pick 8 wickets at an average of 14.50 & strike rate of 9.7. His best batting performance was 65 not out against Galle Gladiators while his best match bowling came against Dambulla Viiking, both in group stage of the tournament. Andre Russell would represent the LPL Players in IPL 2021 as he would join the Indian Premier League as one of the key players for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the season.
In addition to these, some big names like Chris Gayle, Dawid Malan, David Miller & Faf du Plessis were also supposed to be part of the Sri Lanka based T20 tournament, but they had to withdraw due to their unavailability coz of fitness or national duties.
