This decade of 2010s has been one of the most exciting and historic ones in tennis. Roger Federer’s absolute domination of the ATP tour which was visible to 2000s was nowhere to be seen in this decade. The Federer-Nadal duopoly over the sport of Men’s tennis was ended by a raging force of nature from Serbia named as Novak Djokovic. The Serbian superstar proved in more than one ways that he was no doubt the player of this decade.
4. Most Weeks At World Number 1
Djokovic became World Number 1 for the 1st time in June 2011 after reaching the Wimbledon final that year. In the next match he would down the defending Champion Rafa Nadal to consolidate his position.
Djokovic has been the World Number 1 for 275 weeks in this decade, the most by any player at the ATP circuit. This clearly shows the Serb’s dominance over his rivals over the last 10 years.

3. Dominating Federer And Nadal
Till 2010 season end, Novak had a prominent losing record against Federer and Nadal. That would change in 2011, where this renewed Serb handed Rafa Nadal 6 straight final defeats and also won 4 matches against Roger Federer against 1 loss.
Since that year Novak has turned his deficit head to head record against both his great rivals in his favour, a real testimony of his dominance.
2. Holding All 4 Slams At Same Time
If the year 2011 marked the start of Novak Djokovic’s dominance, the 2015-16 stretch was the peak of it all. In those 12 months would see the Serb holding all 4 Slams at the same time.
He was the only man since Rod Laver to do so. In doing so, Djokovic would also win his elusive French Open and achieve the eternally awaited Career Grand Slam.
1. Most Slams In This Decade
Djokovic has won 16 Slams in his illustrious career and 15 of them have come in the last decade. This is by far the most by any player since 2010. The Serb stands tall on that leader-board with his Spanish rival Rafa Nadal following at 13.
In contrast Roger Federer has won only 4 Slams in the last decade. All these achievements leave no doubt that Novak Djokovic is the player of this decade in Men’s tennis.
