Neymar’s 100th goal made FC Barcelona stay up in the hunt for the La Liga title despite Lionel Messi’s suspension. Barcelona is now just two point behind the table leaders Real Madrid as the club scored 4-1 win at Granada. From now in three weeks time Madrid and Barcelona will be face to face at Bernabeu. This is going to be interesting season of La Liga as there is a lot at stake.
In his 177th appearance, Neymar rounded off the win with his 100th goal. As Barcelona moved a step closer to its first title in as many as five years, this goal is deemed very special for both team and player. The first attempt made by Luis Suarez’s over Ochoa came back off the bar before the Mexican made three saves. Granada’s Jeremie Boga leveled the match at the start of the second-half in just five minutes.
However, the level remained for next 13 minutes only when Suarez provided Alcacer a long pass to scored his fourth goal since joining in August. Gradually the hope for Granada to revive the match with goals ended when Uche Agbo was shown a second yellow card eight minutes from time. After the yellow card the game was safe for Barcelona when Ivan Rakitic corner kick made a goal.
And at the end Neymar rounded off the win when he tapped home Alcacer’s cross at the far post. Till the world cup next year the football season is very exciting and interesting. While the fate of Messi is still undecided the year could be table-turner for many players.
