The Indian Cricketer reached this milestone on November 9, 2002 at Nagpur against a visiting West Indies Team. Sourav, opening the Indian batting in the match with Sehwag, would go on to score a 99 ball 78. India, however lost this match to the touring side.
3. AB de Villiers
The Superman of Cricket, de Villiers, stands on the third slot of the list of Cricketers fastest to 8000 ODI runs. AB, one of the most prolific batsmen from South Africa, scored his 8000th run in his 190th match and 182nd ODI innings.

The Proteas Cricketer reached this milestone on August 26, 2015 at Durban against a visiting New Zealand Team. Coming at number 4, de Villiers would go on to score a more than run a ball half century in a winning cause.
2. Hashim Amla
The former South African Cricketer, who leads the chart of fastest 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 & 7000 ODI runs stands on the second slot of the list of Cricketers fastest to 8000 ODI runs. Amla, one of the most prolific batsmen from South Africa, scored his 8000th run in his 179th match and 176th ODI innings.
The Proteas Cricketer reached this milestone in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on June 19, 2019 at Birmingham against New Zealand. Amla would go on to score a gritty half century off 83 balls in a match that South Africa lost.
1. Virat Kohli
The Indian Captain, Kohli, stands atop the list of Cricketers fastest to 8000 ODI runs. Virat, among the most prolific batsmen from India, scored his 8000th run in his 183rd match and 175th ODI innings.
The Indian Cricketer reached this milestone in semifinal of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 on June 15, 2017 at Birmingham against Bangladesh. Kohli would go on to score a more than run a ball half century in a winning cause. He missed his century by just 4 runs however India defeated the opponents by 9 wickets.
