The Unique New Records Chennai Super Kings have won the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) championship following two exhausting months of play.
At the lovely Narendra Modi Stadium, CSK overcame GT in the championship match Unique New Records.
With their sixth IPL championship, they have joined Mumbai Indians as the most successful franchise in the league.

Most Centurions in a Single IPL Season Unique New Records
IPL 2023 saw 12 hundred scored in total. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli broke several tonnes out of that. This season, we had the most centurions and Unique New Records in the competition’s history with nine in total.
Gill, Kohli, Harry Brook, Heinrich Klaasen, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Prabhsimran Singh, Cameron Green, Venkatesh Iyer, and Suryakumar Yadav are included as this season’s centurions.
Historic five consecutive sixes by Rinku against GT
In order to defeat GT, KKR needed 29 runs off the final over, which put them in a precarious situation. Umesh Yadav singled off the opening pitch by dabbing it, giving Rinku Singh the opportunity to attack Unique New Records. To bring KKR home, the southpaw astonishingly smashed five consecutive sixes against Yash Dayal.
In an IPL run chase, he scored the most runs in the 20th over.
The stunning hat trick by Rashid Khan
It doesn’t happen frequently that you score a hat-trick but your team still loses. Rashid Khan scored his first IPL hat trick on the day Rinku hammered five sixes, but GT still lost. To complete his lone hat trick of the year, he struck out Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Shardul Thakur.
Rashid has four total hat-tricks, which is the most in T20 cricket.
The heroics of Madhwal and Mohit in the IPL playoffs
In the IPL playoffs, Akash Madhwal became the first bowler to record a five-wicket haul. His 5/5 figures stopped LSG in its tracks.
Against MI, Mohit also claimed his first five (10).

KL Rahul scored 4,000 runs in the quickest time ever for a hitter.
Despite missing the majority of this season, LSG captain KL Rahul became the quickest player to reach 4,000 IPL runs. Chris Gayle’s previous record of 112 IPL innings was broken by him as he accomplished the feat in his 105th innings against PBKS.
Rahul was only behind Gayle in terms of speed to reach 3,000 IPL runs Unique New Records. As a captain, he ran 2,000 yards.
The second Indian to score at least 800 runs in a single IPL season
After Virat Kohli’s 973 runs in 2016, Gill is the only Indian hitter to reach this milestone this season with 890 runs.
Gill is the fourth batter overall to score more than 800 runs in an IPL season Unique New Records. He entered a select group that also includes David Warner (848 – 2016), Jos Buttler (863 – 2022), and Kohli.
Warner reaches 60 IPL fifty-sixes.
With a 54 against PBKS, David Warner scored his 60th fifty in the IPL. He is the first batsman to score four hundred and 60 fifties in the IPL Unique New Records.
There have been 50 IPL half-centuries completed by just Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.
Warner has the most fifty-plus scores of any batter in the competition with 65. Dhawan has 52 of these scores, while Kohli has a total of 57.

IPL season with the most powerplay wickets
The most powerplay wickets in IPL history have been taken by Shami (17 in 2023). Prior to this, MI’s Mitchell Johnson (2013) and Trent Boult (2020) each claimed 16 wickets. In this period, CSK’s Mohit took 15 wickets in 2013, compared to CSK’s Deepak Chahar’s 15 powerplay wickets in 2019. The worst economy of these bowlers is Shami’s (7.35) Unique New Records.
Most partnerships with 50 or more in an IPL season
For their franchise, Virat and Du Plessis were in outstanding form this season. The RCB opening pair established the most partnerships of 50 or more throughout an IPL season Unique New Records for any wicket.

IPL seasons with the most 200-plus totals
According to statistician Kausthub Gudipati, the IPL 2023 season featured the most 200-plus totals ever. 37 by 2023, 18 by 2022, 15, 13 by 2020, 11, and 8 by 2008 are the projected years.
This exceptional IPL record was written by GT’s bowling trio.
The top three wicket-takers in the IPL came from the same squad for the first time ever this season. The three bowlers are all GT alumni. Rashid Khan (27), Mohit Sharma (27), and Mohammed Shami (28), who took the most wickets in the IPL 2023 season.

Against KKR, Yashasvi Jaiswal hit the IPL’s quickest fifty in just 13 balls.
Glenn Phillips destroyed RR with a 7-ball 25. Because of his significant innings, he was named Man of the Match. He won the honor by playing the fewest balls in the IPL, setting a record in the process.
