Here we talk about those batsmen who hit the most runs in IPL 2008.
5. Graeme Smith
The Proteas Captain & Opener was part of the Rajasthan Royals franchise Team in Indian Premier League 2008. The top order batsman got himself into the top 5 of the most runs in IPL 2008. During the season Graeme Smith scored 441 runs off 11 IPL matches including 3 fifties. His best was 91 in IPL 2008 and he scored at an average of 49.00 in a season when he had a strike rate of 121.82.

His team, the Sawai Man Singh Stadium based outfit, won the inaugural edition to be the first Champions in this tournament defeating Chennai Super Kings in the title clash.
4. Shane Watson
The Aussie All-rounder was part of the Rajasthan Royals team in 2008 edition of Indian Premier League. The Top order batsman is listed among the top 5 of the most runs in IPL 2008. During the season he hit 472 off 15 matches including 4 fifties. His season average was 47.20 and strike rate was 151.76 with his season best being 76 not out.

The Jaipur team won 13 out of 16 matches in an amazing season for the Shane Warne led side which defeated Delhi Daredevils in the Semifinal. The Shilpa Shetty- Raj Kundra owned side couldn’t expect anything better as they won the best thing at display, the trophy.
3. Sanath Jayasuriya
The Left-handed Sri Lankan Cricketer represented Mumbai Indians side in the Indian Premier League 2008. The top order batsman is listed among the top 5 of the most runs in IPL 2008. During the season Sanath Jayasuriya hit 518 off 14 matches including 2 fifties and a hundred. His season average was 43.16 and strike rate was 167.63. His best from the season was 114 not out.
His team, Mumbai Indians, however couldn’t make much from his performance as they finished at 4th.

2. Gautam Gambhir
The Delhi & India Opening Batsman was part of the Delhi Daredevils into the Indian Premier League 2008. The left-handed opening batsman is listed among the top 5 of the most runs in IPL 2008. During the season Gautam Gambhir hit 534 off 14 matches including 5 fifties. His season average was 41.07 and strike rate was 140.89. His best from the season was 86.
His team, bolstered by the performances from him & Virender Sehwag, played the semifinal of the tournament edition winning 7 out of 14 matches in the run.

The Attacking Left-handed Batsman represented Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League edition 2008. The Australian batsman leads the top 5 of the most runs in IPL 2008. During the season Shaun Marsh hit 616 off 11 matches including 5 fifties and a hundred. His season average was 68.44 and strike rate was 139.68. His best from the season was 115.
His team, PCA Stadium, Mohali based Kings XI Punjab, bolstered by his and performance from Kumar Sangakkara & Yuvraj Singh finished 3rd in the tournament missing the train to the final.
