This was the journey of Indian Hockey Team in 1936 Summer Games. It was an exhibition of Hockey Skills by the two brothers Dhyan Chand & Roop Singh for their second Olympics after doing it at 1932. Together they scored 22 out of 38 goal though there’s some disparities at different sources that have published information about these matches. While one source has Dhyan Chand & Roop Singh both scoring 11 goals each in the Olympic Hockey tournament, another source mentions it to be 13 & 9 respectively.
The Goalie Richard Allen, together with the defense, was once again brilliant with defending the goalpost and barring the one goal in the final he wouldn’t give any cause of celebrations to the opponents. India, thus, won their third Olympic Gold Medal at the 1936 Summer Games. This is it for today. Hope you liked the content; we enjoy reading your thoughts and questions, don’t forget to comment.
