Former River Plate Footballer Javier Pedro Saviola Fernández would go on to score 17 goals for 1899 founded Futbol Club Barcelona during the 2001-02 tournament. With these goals, the Argentine Footballer got himself among the footballers with the most goals in La Liga 2001-02. His team would win 18, lose 10 & draw 10 from the competition to finish fourth and qualify for the Champions League third qualifying round.
3. Patrick Kluivert (FC Barcelona)
Former Ajax Footballer Patrick Stephan Kluivert would go on to score 18 goals for 1899 founded Futbol Club Barcelona during the 2001-02 tournament. With these goals, the Netherlands Footballer got himself among the footballers with the most goals in La Liga 2001-02. His team would win finish fourth. Barcelona would score 65 goals in the tournament edition, while they would concede 37 goals in the tournament edition.
2. Fernando Morientes (Real Madrid)
Former Zaragoza Footballer Fernando Morientes Sánchez would score 18 goals for Real Madrid Club de Fútbol during the 2001-02 tournament. With these goals, the Spanish Footballer got himself among the footballers with the most goals in La Liga 2001-02. The Bernabéu based side would finish third in the tournament edition, winning 19, losing 10 & drawing 9 and qualify for the Champions League group stage. Real Madrid would concede 44 goals in the tournament.

Former Mallorca Footballer Diego Tristán Herrera scored 21 goals for his team during the 2001-02 tournament. With these goals, the Spanish Footballer got himself among the footballers with the most goals in La Liga 2001-02, in fact leading the list. The Estadio Municipal de Riazor based side would finish runners up in the tournament edition, winning 20, losing 10 & drawing 8 from their 38 matches as they’d qualify for the Champions League group stage. Deportivo would concede 41 goals, while they’d score 65 in the tournament edition.

While Valencia won their fifth title of the La Liga in the 71st edition, Deportivo La Coruña finished second in the season. Real Madrid & FC Barcelona would make the top 4 of the tournament as a total of 961 goals were scored during the tournament in 380 matches, Real Madrid leading the goal-scoring with 69 goals while Tenerife scoring the least with 32 goals. Valencia conceded the fewest goals with 27 while Athletic Bilbao conceded the most with 68 goals.
