U Mumba played like champions from the very first raid made by the captain Anup Kumar till the last raid he made. The score was 24-24 in the second half when Mumba played their strategic game by dashing out maximum number of players in the half. U Mumba kept their unbeaten record in the league match by defeating Puneri Paltan by just three points. The captain cool Anup Kumar stood tall in the raiding table for the match with 9 points and 2 defense points.
The first half was nail biting for the viewers as both the team were playing very cautiously and were not letting even a single point skip by. In one of the previous league match Ajay Thakur gave Puneri Paltan their first victory over U Mumba, however Ajay kept scoring for Puneri Paltan but it wasn’t enough for success. It was tug of war for 40 minutes between Mumba and Paltan in the Maharashtra Dabi. The seesaw battle was going in favor of no one till the half time.
The crisis manager for U Mumba, Anup kept the momentum high by taking 9 points in the raid and receiving the best raider award by the beautiful Sonkashi Sinha. His team mate Surjeet gave him sufficient support by tackling 5 Puneri Paltan players and getting first High-5 for U Mumba. Surjeet also received Best Defender award for his ankle holds and thigh hold. The pick-up moment was when Anup dragged Ajay Thakur of Puneri Paltan from mid line. The experience of Jeeva Kumar got them closer to victory as he spent maximum time on the mat. The buzzer ends with 34-31 in favor of U Mumba.
As a result of this match, U Mumba has replaced Puneri Paltan from the number four position in the Pro Kabbadi League season 4. Still three matches are left in the home league and if U Mumba continues winning streaks in home league than they may climb up at the top. Injury kept Manjit Chillar out of the mat or else the match could have been much closer.
