World Para Ice Hockey has published its Strategic Plan 2020-2022 outlining the mission, vision and strategic objectives for the sport in the new cycle.
The Strategic Plan can be downloaded from the World Para Ice Hockey website in English: https://bit.ly/3izxKks
The development of the 2020-2022 Strategic Plan took 12 months involving an extensive consultation with members and stakeholders. It coincided with the International Paralympic Committee’s (IPC) Governance Review and incorporated findings and recommendations from the ongoing review.
The plan includes a new vision (“To be the most popular and inclusive team Para sport”) and mission (“To lead, develop and promote the sport of Para Ice Hockey”) for the organisation.
STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
The new plan developed by World Para Ice Hockey focus on three strategic priorities:
- Development: Attract new athletes through development and high-performance programmes.
- Competitions: Establish a long-term strategy with sustainable, entertaining events.
- Operations: Strengthen operations through good governance, transparency and knowledge-sharing.
World Para Ice Hockey Manager, Michelle Laflamme, said:
“World Para Ice Hockey would like to thank all the Para athletes, our membership, volunteers, partner organisations, staff and administrators who contributed to the development of the 2020-2022 Strategic Plan. We believe this plan reflects the needs and aspirations of our sport. We have come a long way through the work and effort of innumerable people through almost five decades. Now it is our duty to bring the plan into operation and make our vision become a reality.”
