Some great names have been associated with the team from Naples, Napoli. From Diego Maradona to Gonzalo Higuain to Edison Cavani, Napoli have a great past coupled with a wonderful fan-base. 10. Juventus 2 – 2 (5 – 6) Napoli, 2014 Supercopa Italiana
League champs Juve met Cup holders Napoli in the Supercopa Italiana at Doha that went right down to the wire.
After a feisty draw in which star man Gonzalo Higuaín scored twice, Napoli won on penalties 5-6 on a night when Carlos Tevez also scored a brace for Napoli.
9. Napoli 3 – 1 Fiorentina, 2014 Copa Italia Final
Napoli repeated their feat of 2012 Coppa Italia victory two years later when they romped home against Fiorentina thanks to the wonderful brace by star striker Lorenzo Insigne.
This was Rafa Benitez’s only trophy at the club, and Napoli’s last till date.
8. Juventus 0 – 2 Napoli, 2012 Coppa Italia Final
Some would say Napoli won little since the turn of the decade, but they have had a very important trophy in the 2012 Coppa Italia denying holders Juve a second bite at the cherry.

7. SSC Napoli 3 -1 Juventus 1989-90 Serie A
With the title on the line, rivals Napoli and Juve faced off at Naples, with Juve having the only chance to deny Diego Maradona’s high-flying Napoli the Serie A.
Maradona scored twice and Giuliani once in front of an ecstatic crowd to all but guarantee Napoli’s title credentials.
6. SSC Napoli 3 – 0 Atlanta, 1986-87 Coppa Italia Final
The Coppa Italia campaign of 86-87 was a joyride with skipper Diego Maradona leading the charge with 7 goals in the competition.
Napoli lifted the trophy with dominating performances in both legs of the final against Atlanta with Giordano being the star of the show in the 2nd leg and 10 goals in the Cup overall.

5. Napoli 4 – 0 Hallas Verona, 1976 Coppa Italia Final
Napoli thrashed Hallas Verona in the final of the Coppa Italia in 1976 as Alberto Delfrati’s team scored 4 on the night at Stadio Olimpico to clinch the Coppa Italia.
Four goals in the space of 10 minutes rocked Verona as Napoli cruised to their second Coppa Italia title.
4. SSC Napoli 2 – 1 SPAL, 1962 Coppa Italia Final
Firsts are always special and Napoli’s first Coppa Italia came way back in 1962 against SPAL at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome with goals from Corelli and Ronzon cancelling out Micheli’s equalizer in the 16th minute.
3. Napoli 3 – 0 AC Milan, 1989-90 Serie A
In what was the most successful season in Italian football, Napoli pipped eventual European champions Milan to the Serie A title in 1989-90 by two points in the end with Diego Maradona being their highest scorer.
In a top of the table face-off at Sao Paolo, Napoli thrashed Milan 3-0 to all but virtually assure themselves of the Serie A title.
2. Napoli 2 – 1 Juventus, 1986-87 Serie A
Napoli kicked off their golden period in Italian football with the 1986-87 Serie A trophy, led from the front by two prolific attackers in Diego Maradona and Francesco Romano.
The Argentine wizard had just won the World Cup and guided Napoli to a league title, arguably with one of their greatest victories over Juve at Sao Paolo.
1. Napoli 2 – 1 Stuttgart, 1988-89 UEFA Cup Final
With Diego Maradona’s at the peak of his powers in this time, Napoli went on the clinch the UEFA Cup in 1989 defeating German side Stuttgart in the final.
The Italians came back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 on the night, skipper Diego Maradona himself leading the way with the equalizer.
