Middlesex Cricket announced today that Tim Southee will join the club for this season’s NatWest T20 Blast campaign, joining fellow New Zealander Brendon McCullum, as Middlesex’s second overseas signing.
Southee will join Middlesex in early July and be available to play in thirteen of the club’s South Group matches, plus all knockout stages of the competition, should Middlesex qualify.
On signing Southee, Angus Fraser, Middlesex Cricket’s Managing Director of Cricket, said…
“Tim is one of the leading fast bowlers in the world. He has plenty of experience in T20 cricket and looks to bowl in the periods where we feel we could be better.
“We look forward to welcoming him to Lord’s.”
On joining Middlesex, Southee commented…
“I’m excited to be joining Middlesex this year for the NatWest T20 blast and helping the club throughout the T20 competition.
“When the opportunity come up to play for Middlesex it wasn’t a tough decision to make and I’m looking forward to calling Lords home while I’m there.”
