Highly credentialed senior medical practitioner Dr Carolyn Broderick has been appointed Chief Medical Officer for Tennis Australia.
Dr Broderick’s impressive resume includes:

- Medical Director, Australian Team, Youth Olympic Games, Nanjing China 2014
- Physician, Australian Olympic Team, London 2012 and Sydney 2000 Olympic Games
- Head of Clinical Services, Children’s Hospital Institute of Sports Medicine
- Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine, UNSW Sydney
- Team Physician, Australian Women’s Basketball Team (Opals) 1996-2001
- Member, NRL Medical Advisory Panel since 2015.
As a leading practitioner and scholar in sports medicine, Dr Broderick will be responsible for athlete performance, including coordinating and improving sport medicine infrastructure and support, as well as Australian Open services.

Dr Broderick was officially appointed to the role by the Tennis Australia board and takes over from Dr Tim Wood who has stepped down after 16 years of distinguished service.
“We would like to take the opportunity to thank Dr Tim Wood for his professionalism and leadership throughout his tenure, and his invaluable contribution to the Australian Open and the physical wellbeing of all our athletes,” Mr Tiley said.
Dr Broderick will start official duties in August 2017.
