Mumbai: Famous Bangladeshi Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan and his wife Umme Ahmed Shishir narrowly skipped a terrible helicopter crash on Friday morning, which claimed one life.
Shakib and his wife had landed the destination, Tulip Sea Pearl Beach Resort Hotel in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, at around 9:30am and the chopper took off right after that with four passenger and the helicopter’s pilot.
According to the official sources, the chopper crashed in Redu Khal area near Inani Sea beach at around 10:30pm while on its return journey to Dhaka.
One of the passengers present on the helicopter could not make it after the crash and the other four were severely injured and were rushed to the nearest hospital, where they are being treated.
The Helicopter had dropped Shakib at Tulip Sea Pearl Beach Resort for a shoot of a TV commercial and even Shakib admitted that he had no idea about the crash as he was shooting.
“I am fine, but feel rather shocked at the news of the chopper crash. But I can’t really tell you anything about the crash. I was at shooting at the time,” Shakib exclaimed while talking to the media.
People from all walks of life expressed their gratitude over social media later in the day and thanked God for keeping Shakib safe from the crash.
Mushfiqur Rahim, another Bangladeshi cricketer, posted on his Facebook Page, “All thanks to Almighty Allah.. this is what happens when you have blessings of 170 million people… just happy to hear Shakib is safe and sound. But, may Allah grant Jannah to the person who lost his life. Let’s pray for the departed soul…”
Shakib is scheduled to return to Dhaka tomorrow after completing the shoot for the TV commercial.
