Mumbai: India’s ‘HIT’-man, Rohit Sharma who got stirring ‘HIT’ in career, incurred because of a thigh injury, seems to replenished with optimism after the major hitch. The Nagpur-born faced the slowdown after he went through a surgery for the same in London.
The ODI series against New Zealand earlier this year gave Indian cricketer this blow, which was strong enough to keep the right-handed batsman’s away from ongoing five-Test rubber against England. However, winds are blowing in a favorable direction for Rohit, that can be inferred from his statement delivered on Wednesday.
Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma shared his views about life circumstances and how he takes challenges and responsibilities in a positive manner. Making him fit for a successful Indian Premier League (IPL) season, for him as well as for the franchise.
“Firstly, when I was appointed as captain (of MI), it’s is a huge honour to lead the side. We all know, their lies so much responsibility. When the captaincy came along, I was ready and prepared for it and also I feel captaincy is not just done by one person, it takes help of lot of people.
I got support of my players, my support staff as well and we cannot forget, the support from owners as well, they showed a lot of faith in me, giving me the responsibility, but I always enjoy challenges and responsibility,” said Rohit.
“So I always look forward to it whenever I get an opportunity. In the last four years, when I was the captain, we have done pretty well and I look forward for another successful season which will be starting next year,” added the stylish right-handed batsman.
Sharma was speaking after Mumbai Indians, which has collaborated with Diesel, launched a limited edition collection for cricket fans. MI owner Nita Ambani and Renzo Rosso, Founder, Diesel were present on the occasion.
