Mumbai: What could be more disheartening for a young aspiring player than an allegation labelling him as a violator of the code of conduct. Ranji Trophy participant, Sanju Samson of Kerala, is facing disciplinary action from the state cricket association, during the team’s recent Ranji Trophy against Goa.
The budding batsman has played one Twenty20 match for India. The wicket-keeper batsman is surrounded with the claims that infer a casual attitude. He went out of the venue of the match without informing the team management.
Along with it, an exhibition of the young lad’s short-temperedness was on the menu. He also allegedly broke a bat in the dressing room after a match. He returned to the venue in the evening after the team management made several efforts to contact him, KCA sources said.
The Issue turned more problematic for the ‘youngest to captain a Ranji trophy side Kerala’, with a telephonic conversation. This took place between Sanju’s father and KCA office-bearers, where inept language was used by the former.
All this now has constituted to the formation of a panel which will look into the matter to announce the verdict. A four-member committee has been formed for the same. It consists of- former Kerala players S Ramesh, P Ranganathan and Adv Sreejith are the members of the four-member enquiry committee headed by former KCA President T R Balakrishnan, a source said.
However, the green player has not reacted yet, over allegations launched against him. Sanju is not part of Kerala’s playing XI in the ongoing Ranji Trophy game against Tripura in Cuttack. After a 154 against Jammu and Kashmir, Sanju managed just 180 runs in his next 10 innings.
He made his Twenty20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe on 19 July 2015.He is the youngest to score 1000 runs in IPL,Two Double Tons in Ranji Trophy & also the youngest to captain a Ranji trophy side Kerala.
