Kolkata: It was a mixed day for Bengal at the Eden Gardens as they were first reduced to 379 and then they bounced back with the ball to restrict Goa to 191/5 at the end of the second day’s play on Sunday.
Resuming the day at 305/5, the Bengal batsmen couldn’t capitalise on the solid platform but fell one by one. Anustup Majumdar, who had scored a century on the first day itself made 119 while he received little or no support from the tail-enders. Ashoke Dinda and Boddupalli Amit made 16 and 12 respectively to take Bengal to 379.
In response, Dinda turned up the heat as he snared three wickets to push Goa on the backfoot. However all their eyes would be on Sunil Desai (53 n.o) and Keenan Vaz (40 n.o) who would look to reduce the deficit as much as possible.
