Profile | Tajinder Pal Singh Toor is an Indian professional track and field athlete, who is specialized in the shot put and represents India internationally in this even since 2017. He is an Asian Games gold medalist. He was born in Khosa Pando village in Punjab and has an interest in cricket during his childhood days. But his father insisted him to pursue his career in the shot put, so he switched to this sport from cricket. He used to take his primary training at his native place and then went to the professional training center since his teenage. He started his career professionally since 201 when he has participated in the Federation Cup National Senior Athletics Championship. In this championship, Toor showed his level best throw speed with 20.40m and won the title. He then won a silver medal in 2017 Asian Athletics Championship held at Bhubaneswar and hold the eighth place in the final of Commonwealth Games in the very next year. In August 2018, Toor won gold in the Asian Games and set a new record of throwing in shot put as a national record holder as well as gold medalist of this country.
