Sakshi Malik is an Indian female wrestler, who represents India in the international field since 2010. She is a bronze medalist in Olympics as well as Asian Games and a silver medalist in Commonwealth Games.

In 2016 Rio Olympics, she won a bronze medal and became the first female Olympic medalist from India. She was born in a village of Haryana in India and got motivated to be a wrestler since her childhood influenced by her grandpa Badlu Ram. Sakshi started taking lessons of wrestling at the age of 12 from an Akhara (Indian rural training institution for wrestling) of Rohtak.

She began her career internationally in 2010 with the Junior World Championship, where Sakshi won a bronze medal in the 58kg freestyle event. Then she worked even harder and bagged a gold medal in Dave Schultz International Tournament in 2014. Sakshi had participated in 60kg event at that championship and ever since never let her dedication down after that taste of winning gold.

She took participate in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in the same following year and won a silver medal at the end of the championship. In 2015, she came out with a bronze medal at the Asian Championship held in Doha again in the 60kg category. In 2016, she won a bronze medal and became a proud Indian flag bearer in the list of a female wrestler in Olympic history. In 2017, she won a gold medal in the Commonwealth Championship held in Johannesburg in the 62kg category.  Currently, she is a part of the JSW Sports Excellence Program along with some of her fellow wrestlers.
