Profile | Rashid Khan is an Afghan professional cricketer, who plays for Afghanistan cricket team since 2015. He represents Band-e-Amir team in first-class cricket and plays for Adelaide Strikers in Twenty20 franchise. Rashid is a spinner; he bowls in right-arm leg-break style and occasionally bats right-handedly as a lower-order batsman in the team. He currently captains the Afghanistan national cricket team in T20I format and appears in all format of the game. Apart from Twenty20 and first-class tournaments, Rashid also plays for super league franchise like BPL, IPL, APL, MSL, etc. He started his professional cricket career at a very early age and trained himself as a skilled bowler idolizing Shahid Afridi as his inspiration. He made his international debut through an ODI match in 2015 and gradually accomplished his debut game for all formats consecutively within 3 years. Currently, he is making his World Cup debut in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. His bowling skills are threatening for any batsman, especially for his accurate googly. In addition, he maintains a stump-to-stump line precisely with his googly expertise, which made him a perfect spinner from every aspect. Besides a great spinner, Rashid is also considered an amazing athletic-fielder and a stable lower-order batsman in need. These qualities made this young talent of Afghanistan an asset for his team.
