Profile | Mustafizur Rahman is a Bangladeshi professional cricketer, who serves the national cricket team of Bangladesh since 2015 as a regular member. He plays for all formats of the game and represents Khulna Division in first-class cricket. Mustafizur is an opening bowler, who bowls in left-arm fast-medium with sheer pace & bounce. He has played for Bangladesh Under-19 team and took his primary lessons from Bangladesh Cricket Board’s foundation to become a skilled pacer. In the World Cup tournament of Bangladesh Uner-19, he got a moderate figure of eight-wicket and grabbed the eyes of selectors successfully. At that time, he played for Abahani Limited in List A cricket and Khulna Division in first-class cricket for the very first time. He appeared in Twenty20 tournaments as well during that time and then finally got a call from the national squad of Bangladesh. He made his international debut through a T20I match in 2015 against Pakistan and made his mark remarkably by picking two major wickets of Pakistan in that match. After this, Mustafizur Rahman successfully completed his international debut in the other two formats within a couple of months in the same following year. His off cutters bowling style that swings the ball away made him a threat among the new-age batsmen. The accuracy of pace & variation of bowling gave Mustafizur immense appreciation, and the place of one of the best fast blowers of the team soon. He started his international career at a very young age but unfortunately couldn’t play expectedly due to his several injuries. Rahman was absent from the national squad for a couple of matches for 2016-2017. He has returned in March 2017 but, declared unable to play again in 2018 May due to his serious toe injury. However, finally, this skilled fast-bowler of Bangladesh has cured his injuries primarily and joins the national clan with full power in early 2019. Currently, he was named in the team of Bangladesh for 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. (as Compiled by Madhushree Das Ghosh) (Profile Image from Facebook) |
