Profile | Mohammad Shahzad is an Afghan professional cricketer, who plays from the national side of Afghanistan since 2009. He used to play for Boost Defenders and Band-e-Amir both teams in first-class cricket at domestic level. Apart from that, he also plays for several Super League franchises for different countries like BPL, APL, PSL, etc. Shahzad is a wicketkeeper-batsman and plays as an opening right-handed batsman in all formats of the game. After playing a few first-class matches, Shahzad got a chance to represent the national team of Afghanistan in 2008 international cricket tournament. After this, he played for Afghanistan in 2009 Cricket World Cup Qualifier match and led his squad to gain the ODI status in world cricket with his glorious innings. He has been a regular member of the national cricket team of Afghanistan since then. He is an adept top-order batsman with power hitting style and played numbers of first-class, List-A, Super Leagues, Premier Leagues, and Twenty20 matches in his career, besides international tournaments.
