Profile | Mitchell Aaron Starc is an Australian International cricketer, who has been playing for the national team since 2010. He represents the New South Wales squad in the domestic level and considered one of the best pacers of the Australian team so far. He plays for all three formats of the game and acts as a left-arm fast bowler with an average speed of 145-150 kph. Mitchell Starc occasionally bats as a lower-order left-handed batsman and has a moderate record in some important international matches as well. Mitchell Starc was born in Baulkham Hills of Sydney in 1990 and began his cricket at a very young age of 9. In his 14, he came into the notice of club coach who was in a need of wicketkeeper. After a few practices, quick-learner Mitchell has turned himself as an eye-turner pace bowler successfully from a part-timer wicketkeeper. At the age of 16, he came into the training session of coach Neil D’Costa and improved his skill of fast bowling with a speed of 135/kph. After this, he has got selected for the New South Wales team for Under-17 squad and then, for the U-19 tournament. His performance in Australian domestic one-day matches gave him a chance of appearing in the international field as well. After playing a few famous domestic leagues finally, Mitchell Starc has made his international debut in 2010 with an ODI match. The nuances and finer points of swinging the Dukes ball is something that is hugely appreciated about this 29 years old Australian pacer. Currently, he is considered one of the fastest pacers across the globe. (as Compiled by Madhushree Das Ghosh) (Profile Image from Facebook) |
