Mesut Özil is a German footballer, who plays for the German national football team since 2009. He currently appears in English football club Arsenal in Premier League and plays as a midfielder of the squad.

One of the best footballers in the world Özil got retirement from international competition in 2018. He currently appears in club leagues only and still continues his top-rated sponsorships with some famous brand because of his glorious club career. He started his club career with Gelsenkirchen in 1995 and became a professional footballer with the emerging career from 2006 with the Schalke 04 club.

Özil started affiliating with the national team of German since 2006 at the youth-level but made his international debut in 2009 as a proficient senior player. Özil could continue his professional football career with national teams of Turkish and German both. However, he chose his birthplace Germany and began his career with the U17 team of Germany at the national level instead of Turkey.

Özil is a versatile midfielder, who is praised for his agility and tricks. Özil sometimes plays as a center-forward as well as a second-striker, depending on the needs in a match. He has a record of assisting many successful goals and a great ratio of assist into the pitch, that’s why Ozil is called ‘assist-king’ in the media. His undeniable talent made him one of the best German footballers of all time, thus he is considered the ‘German Messi’ among his colleagues.
