Profile | Martin Guptill is a New Zealand International cricketer, who plays for the national team of New Zealand since 2009 in all three formats. He is a right-handed opening batsman and occasionally plays as a right-arm off-break bowler as well. He has represented Auckland team in domestic cricket and played for Derbyshire in county cricket circuit. Before getting selected for the national New Zealand team, he has played in Under-19 Cricket World Cup for New Zealand. In 2009, Martin made his international cricket debut through an ODI match against West Indies. Fortunately, he was succeeding to make his impact in the international field since his first match. After this, Martin Guptill has made his debut in the rest two formats of the game consecutively in the same following year. At the age of 14, Guptill, unfortunately, met with an accident and lost three toes of his left foot. However, this tragedy couldn’t hold his talent back for long, and he has risen like a sun with all his undeniable batting adepts. He is enlisted in New Zealand squad successfully for 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. (as Compiled by Madhushree Das Ghosh) (Profile Image from Facebook) |
