Profile | Marit Bjorgen is a retired Norwegian cross-country skier, who used to represent her continent internationally from 2003 to 2018. She won the most number of medals in the history of winter Olympics and ranked No.1 in the all-time Cross-Country World Cup ranking list. She started skiing at the age of 8 and soon became a head-turner in this field. She took participated in several interstate championships at the primary level and didn’t lose a single tournament at the age of 13. She began her domestic career professionally with the Junior World Championship in 1999 and international career with the World Championship in 2003. Then she began her winning trail in the international level and soon emerged as a leading cross-country skier of all-time with her glorious achievements. Bjorgen is an eight-time World Champion Gold medalist and five-time Olympian including three Olympic Gold medals. Bjorgen also grabbed 12 World Cup titles in her long career graph announced the most successful skier of all-time in the world history of skiing. She is married to a former Olympic champion of Nordic Combined, Fred Borre Lundberg, and declared her retirement from the international field in 2018, after having her first baby.
