Profile | Manu Bhaker is an Indian sport shooter, who represents India in international shooting events since 2017. She became a famous sportsperson after winning a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games Gold Coast in 2018. Manu is also a gold medalist in ISSF World Cup and considered the youngest Indian to win gold at that championship so far. She is specialized in 10m air pistol shooting and won a gold medal in Commonwealth Games. She started her shooting career inspired by her grandfather Mr. Ch. Rajkaran, who was a great shooter himself. Till the age of 14, Manu became a sportsperson and achieved expertise in some main sports categories. Such as, Mixed martial art, boxing, skating, tennis, etc. along with shooting and has represented these games at the national level as well. However, she chose air pistol shooting and made herself a flawless shooter within just 2 years of full dedications. She got the limelight for her performance in 2017 National Junior Championship and then won nine gold medals consecutively at the National Games championship in the same following year. In 2018, she gave her best to win gold in the ISSF World Cup and became the youngest Indian shooter to achieve that honor. After this, Manu won Gold in 2018 Commonwealth Games but failed to hold the same performance in the Asian Games in that year. However, she recovered her mourn shortly and back with a bang with the gold achievement in the 2018 Youth Olympics. After this win, Manu became the first female athlete from India to clinch gold at the YOG. She won a gold medal again in ISSF World Cup.
