Profile | Mahmudullah is a Bangladeshi international cricket, and plays for all formats of the game. He has been playing from the national side of Bangladesh since 2007 and started his career with the limited over cricket. He is the current vice-captain of the Bangladeshi cricket team for test and T20I formats. He represents Dhaka Division squad in First-class cricket along with List A circuit. All-rounder Mahmudullah is an off-break spinner and a right-handed middle order batsman of the team. In his domestic career, Mahmudullah has a brighter record with the bat than the ball, and he became one of the leading scorers in Bangladeshi domestic seasons. Apart from List A cricket and first-class cricket, he also played several Super League gamed like BPL, PSL, etc. in his domestic career. His balanced performance in domestic circuit gave him direct entry to the national squad of Bangladesh in 2007. Mahmudullah made his international debut through an ODI match against Sri Lanka and played an impactful inning with 36 runs and 2 wickets. Then he made his T20I debut in the same following year and test debut after 2 years in 2009, against West Indies. His stable batting skills and handy off-break bowling style keep him consistent in all formats of cricket and gradually made him a permanent member of the team. He played a few glorious innings in World Cup 2015 and became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score a century in World Cup history. Apart from World Cup, he gave some unforgettable innings in ICC champion’s Trophy tournament as an adept all-rounder. He was currently named for the final team Bangladesh in 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.
