Profile | Leander Paes is an Indian professional tennis player, who represents India internationally since 1991. He specializes in men’s doubles but also famous for his playing expertise in singles, men’s teams, and mixed doubles events. Paes has bagged eight doubles and ten mixed doubles Grand Slam titles in his long career, which made him one of the most successful Indian tennis players of all-time. He made history after clinching the Wimbledon tournament in 2010 for winning three Wimbledon titles in this career. He was born in a family with the perfect sports background, which helped him to pursue his dream of becoming a national-level tennis player more effortlessly. He played many significant matches during his domestic days and ranked world’s no. 1 player at the junior level ranking in 1990. His domestic success soon led him towards the international level and he made his glorious international debut in 1991. He became a legend in 1998 for his back-to-back wins and achieving the biggest singles results in the ATP tour at the doubles event.
