Profile | Joe Denly is an English International cricketer and a professional player, who plays for the national England team since 2009. He plays in all formats of the game and represents the Kent Country Cricket Club in domestic cricket. Joe Denly is a right-handed opening batsman and an occasional right-arm leg-spin bowler. At the beginning of his career, Joe Denly used to play football for Charlton Athletic academy in school level. His father and brother both have played cricket in domestic cricket league for Whitstable Cricket Club as well. For having a cricket background, Joe Denly has played cricket from a very young age and appeared in almost every age-level in domestic cricket. At the age of 18, he emerged in his first ever country-championship match against Gloucestershire, where he played moderately. In 2007, he made his first maiden professional century for Kent and came into the limelight instantly. After this, he had played a few more interesting matches at domestic level with England Lions, Sydney Grade Cricket, etc. successively. In 2008, he shone the utmost in the domestic tournament against Somerset and got a chance to appear in the national England team directly. His List-A centuries in Twenty20 matches and immense success in domestic cricket gave him a desirable place in the national team that he was craved for. Apart from his wonderful batting style, Joe Denly is also regarded for his occasional leg-spin trick, especially in limited over-matches. He used to play for shorter formats of the game but currently, tried his hand in test cricket format as well at the beginning of this year.
