Dwaine Pretorius is a South African cricketer, who plays for the National SA team since 2016 and represents Highveld Lions squad in the domestic level. Pretorius was born in 1989 in Randfontein region of South Africa and started his cricket career with the North West cricket team in U-19 level.
Some serious injuries in knee cartilage drew him back from participating the 2008 U-19 World cup team. However, he gave his dream career a second chance after recovering from the torn knee. Progressively, he has played for the Africa T20 Cup 2015, before he was selected for the SA national team. This 30 years old right-armmedium pacer became popular among the selector when his vaulting progress outstripped the pace in his regular bowling pattern.After this domestic T20 cup tournament, Dwaine Pretorius got his big international break in through ODI in 2016.
However, this wonderful South African bowler hasn’t made his test or IPL debut so far, yet his success in shorter formats surely would lead him that way soon. With his consistency as well as hard work, Pretorius became an all-rounder and has been a decent bat in shorter formats along with his bowling expertise. Dwaine is part of the South African Squad for the ICC 2019 Cricket World Cup.
