Profile | Arpinder Singh is an Indian Track & Field athlete, who represents India internationally since 2014. He is a track & field athlete and specializes in triple jump event. Arpinder is a gold medalist in Asian Games. He started with the 100m Sprint as an athlete, but later, moved his focus to the triple jump event for the advice of his school coach. He began his triple-jumping career with under-17 School Games in 2006 and started making headlines with the win at the Youth National Games in 2009. His sheer dedication and hard-work rewarded him with the selection in contingent for the Commonwealth Games in 2014. He bagged a bronze medal in Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games . In 2018, he got the most unforgettable achievement of his career by clinching a gold medal in the Asian Games held in Jakarta. He made a new record of covering 16.77 meters in the triple jump category to won the gold and became the second Indian athlete to do so. This Indian got this honor of winning gold in this track in category after almost 48 years in the history of Asian Games. Fortunately, this historic win was made in the National Sports Day which had increased its actual pride more spectacularly. He also won a bronze medal in the IAAF Continental Cup championship in the same following year held in Ostrava. Apart from training of triple jump, he enjoys his gym time a lot.
