Profile | Allyson Felix is an American track and field sprinter, who represents her country in the international sprinting championships since 2003. She specializes in 100 meters, 200 meters, and 400 meters relay. Felix is three-time World Champion and two-time Olympic silver medalist. Her impeccable speed in the field with the thinnest legs gained her the nickname of ‘chicken leg’. She began her sprinting career seriously during her high school days and took participate in the various interstate competition at that time. At CIF California State Meet, she participated in the 200 m event finished at ninth. She made her international debut within a couple of years. In 2003, she appeared in the Pan American Games to begin her international journey and bagged a gold medal in the 4 x 100 meters relay. It was her success in the 2004 Summer Olympics which grabbed the spotlight from the world and gradually she became one of the most successful American sprinters of all-time. In 2005, Felix became the youngest gold medalist sprinter at the World Championship with her win in the 200 meters distance. After living a victorious career at the international field and making some brilliant world records in sprinting, this legendary sprinter took a break from this field in 2014. Her serious hamstring injury compelled her to take a break of nine-month during this time. She made her come back with the 2015 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
