Aftab Alam is an Afghan professional cricketer, who plays for the national cricket team of Afghanistan since 2010. He appears in the shorter formats of the game and plays for limited over matches only. He is one Afghan cricketer, who made his first-class debut after making his international debut. He has represented Speen Ghar Regions and Mis Ainak Region in first-class cricket. apart from first-class cricket, he plays for Balkh Legends team in APL franchise.

Aftab Alam is a right-arm pacer; he bowls in medium-fast style and occasionally bats as a right-handed lower-order batsman. At the domestic level, he used to play for Under-15 squad of Afghanistan as a regular bowler. His skilled bowling expertise soon drove him into the team of Afghanistan Under-19 squad in 2010. After playing two Youth World Cup tournaments with that U-19 team, he got elected for the national squad of Afghanistan.

In 2015, his performance in the ODI format against Scotland gave him the place he was always craved for. Aftab has been playing as a regular pacer and a go-to bowler of the team since then.
