Profile | Sharath Kamal is an Indian international professional table tennis player, who represents India since 2004. He is an nine-time national champion and the first-ever Indian TT player to achieve this feat. Sharath is one of the most successful table tennis players of India, who currently plays in European League for Borussia Dusseldorf Club. He started playing table tennis at the age of 4 and got his primary training from his father and uncle. He started representing Indian from the 2004 Olympics and has participated in numbers of international table tennis championships since then. He began his winning train since the Commonwealth Table tennis Championships in 2004 and won a gold medal. After this, Sharath won the gold in 2006 Commonwealth Games in both men singles event and team event. Then, in 2007 he has participated in Pyongyang Invitational Tournament and became the first Indian player to win this title. 2008 was even more glorious for this Indian TT player when he became the only Indian Men’s table tennis player to qualify in the Beijing Olympics. In 2010, he won the singles title at ITTF Pro Tour and became the first TT player to achieve that feat.
