The CPL 2013 or Caribbean Premier League 2013 was the inaugural edition of Caribbean Premier League which would see 6 franchise teams fighting for the tournament title. The tournament was co-hosted by Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Guyana, Barbados, Jamaica and Saint Lucia during July 30-August 24, 2013. Jamaica Tawallahs won the tournament, their first Caribbean Premier League title, defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors in the title clash. 5. James Franklin (Guyana Amazon Warriors)
The left-handed batter from Wellington, New Zealand, James Edward Charles Franklin, was part of the Guyana Amazon Warriors team for the Caribbean Premier League 2013. Franklin, who would also play for BBL, BPL & IPL as well, would go on to score 203 runs from 8 innings of the 9 matches he played in the Caribbean Premier League 2013 at an average of 50. His scores included a fifty; Franklin’s 60 not out against Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel was his best score of the tournament. The T20 Record-machine from Jamaica, Christopher Henry Gayle, was part of the Jamaica Tallawahs team for the Caribbean Premier League 2013. Gayle, who would also play for BBL, PSL, IPL & BPL, would go on to score 234 runs from 9 innings of the 9 matches he played in the Caribbean Premier League 2013 at an average of 29. His scores included a fifty; Gayle’s 51 against Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel was his best score of the tournament. With these runs, Chris Gayle entered into the top 5 list for the most runs in CPL 2013.
3. Andre Fletcher (St Lucia Zouks)
The St. Lucia born Right-handed batter, Andre Steffon David Fletcher, was a member of the Saint Lucia Zouks team at the Caribbean Premier League 2013. Fletcher, who would play for BBL, PSL & BPL as well, would go on to score 238 runs from 7 innings of the 7 matches he played in the Caribbean Premier League 2013 at an average of almost 40. His scores included 2 fifties and Fletcher’s 76 against Antigua Hawksbills was his best from the tournament. With these runs, Andre Fletcher made to the exclusive top 5 list for the most runs in CPL 2013.
2. Lendl Simmons (Guyana Amazon Warriors)
The Trinidad and Tobago right handed batter, Lendl Mark Platter Simmons, was part of the Guyana Amazon Warriors team for the Caribbean Premier League 2013. Simmons, who would play for IPL, BBL & PSL as well, would go on to score 266 runs from 9 innings of the 9 matches he played in the Caribbean Premier League 2013 at an average of 33. His score included a fifty; Simmons’ 67 not out against Jamaica Tallawahs was his best score of the tournament. With these runs, Lendl Simmons made to the top 5 list for the most runs in CPL 2013.
1. Shoaib Malik (Barbados Tridents)
The Pakistan born Right-handed batter, Shoaib Malik, was a member of the Barbados Tridents team at the Caribbean Premier League 2013. Malik, who would play for BBL, PSL & BPL as well, would go on to score 272 runs from 8 innings of the 8 matches he played in the Caribbean Premier League 2013 at an average of 34. His scores included a fifty; Malik’s 78 against St Lucia Zouks was his best and the highest individual score of the tournament. With these runs, Shoaib Malik featured in the exclusive top 5 list for the most runs in CPL 2013.
