It is an interesting fact that all three of his fifties came in the match India won eventually, i.e at Mohali & Nagpur.

In the eighth season of Border Gavaskar Trophy in 2008, Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman scored 381 from 7 innings of 4 test matches at an average of 95.25, the best average in the season, with a hundred and two fifties. 3. Mike Hussey
The Australian Cricketer Michael Hussey had starred in some of the famous wins of Kangaroo team. In the eighth edition of Border Gavaskar trophy in 2008, Hussey scored 394 runs from 7 innings of 4 test matches at an average of 56+. Mike would score one hundred & three fifties while scoring these runs and his highest score was 146. With these statistics, Mike Hussey led the list of Australian Cricketers with the most runs in Border Gavaskar Trophy 2008.
2. Sachin Tendulkar
The Indian Cricket Legend was the most prolific scorer for India in that era in Test & ODI Cricket. In the eighth season of Border Gavaskar Trophy, Sachin Tendulkar scored 396 runs from 8 innings of 4 test matches at an average of 56+. Sachin would score a hundred & 2 fifties and his highest score was 109 in the second test. With these statistics, Tendulkar led the list of Cricketers with the most runs in Border Gavaskar Trophy 2008. In the second test at Mohali, Master Blaster would overpass Brian Lara to become the highest scorer in test cricket. It was a good batting series for the Indians as the top 10 scorers list would have 6 Indian batsmen, Sourav Ganguly & MS Dhoni would be the other two.
1. Gautam Gambhir
The Indian Cricket Left handed Opener was the most prolific scorer for India in that season. In the eighth season of Border Gavaskar Trophy, Gautam Gambhir scored 463 runs from 6 innings of 3 test matches at an average of 77+. Sachin would score 2 hundreds & a fifty and his highest score was 206 in the third test. With these statistics, Gambhir led the list of Cricketers with the most runs in Border Gavaskar Trophy 2008.
