5. Herschelle Gibbs – South Africa
South African opener Herschelle Gibbs had a great tournament while he performed well. As an opener, he had played well in every match and became the top scorer for South Africa. Though he played in only six matches because Gibbs couldn’t take his team to Super Six stage but his ability to score runs and his ambitious performance put him in the list of top scorers of the tournament.

4. Adam Gilchrist – Australia
Adam Gilchrist with his super performance helped his team in winning the World Cup. As a keeper, his record remained unbelievable when he had 21 dismissals and as an opener, he had shown his ability of scoring runs when was required the most. Gilchrist has the ability to run quickly between the wickets while stealing the runs to keep opponents under pressure. His aggressive style of batting and his alert and quick keeping kept Australia ahead in the tournament.

3. Ricky Ponting – Australia
The most successful Captain of the tournament, Ricky Ponting had turned the match in the final with his superb innings of 140 runs. He unbeaten hundred not only boosted the confidence of his team-mates but it had put on pressure on opponents. Ponting performed like a captain in the World Cup tournament and became the top scorer for Australia. He had always led his team from the front and his team remained unbeaten with 11 consecutive wins.

2. Sourav Ganguly – India
Dada had a dream too. He had worked with his team hard and was hopeful of winning the World Cup for his country. His performance during the tournament was outstanding. He had played some innings when chips were down and India looked in trouble. He became the first Indian batsman to score three hundred in the World Cup tournament. Ganguly and his team performed so well and his own performance motivated his players in the tournament.

1. Sachin Tendulkar – India
Sachin Tendulkar won the Golden Bat for his outstanding performance during the tournament. His innings of 98 runs against Pakistan and his 152 runs off 151 balls against Namibia were the highlights of the tournament. Tendulkar had performed well all over the tournament and he tried his best to fulfill his dream of winning the world cup. Tendulkar looked dejected when he received the Best Batsman of the tournament trophy after the final match.
Sachin Tendulkar scored 673 runs in the tournament with 1 hundred and 6 fifties. Tendulkar led the list of the most runs at Cricket World Cup 2003.
