The left handed wicket-keeper batter, Kumar Chokshanada Sangakkara, was part of the Sri Lanka Cricket team in One Day Internationals in 2013. Sangakkara would go on to score 1201 runs from 23 innings of the 25 matches he played in 2013 at an average of 63+ and a strike rate of little below 90. His scores included 10 fifties and 2 hundreds; Sangakkara’s 169 against South Africa at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo was his best score of the year in the longer version of limited overs cricket. The top order batter, Virat Kohli was member of the Indian Cricket team in One Day Internationals in 2013. Kohli would go on to score 1268 runs from 30 innings of the 34 matches he played in 2013 at an average of 52+ and a strike rate of 97+. His scores included 7 fifties and 4 hundreds; Kohli’s 115 not out against Australia at VCA Stadium, Nagpur was his best score of the year in the longer version of limited overs cricket. With these runs, Virat Kohli made to the top 5 list for the most ODI runs in 2013.
2. Mohammad Hafeez (Pakistan)
The all-rounder, Mohammad Hafeez, was part of the Pakistan Cricket team in One Day Internationals in 2013. Hafeez would go on to score 1301 runs from 33 innings of the 33 matches he played in 2013 at an average of 46+ and a strike rate of almost 85. His scores included 4 fifties and 5 hundreds; Hafeez’s 140 not out against Sri Lanka at Sharjah was his best score of the year in the longer version of limited overs cricket. With these runs, Mohammad Hafeez made to the top 5 list for the most ODI runs in 2013.
1. Misbah-ul-Haq (Pakistan)
The middle order batter, Misbah-ul-Haq Khan Niazi, was part of the Pakistan Cricket team in One Day Internationals in 2013. Haq would go on to score 1373 runs from 32 innings of the 34 matches he played in 2013 at an average of 55 almost and a strike rate of 70+. His scores included 15 fifties; Misbah’s 96 not out against West Indies at The Oval, London during the ICC Champions Trophy was his best score of the year in the longer version of limited overs cricket. With these runs, Misbah-ul-Haq made to the top 5 list for the most ODI runs in 2013.
