Today we’re here with the Cricketers who featured among the most expensive players in IPL 2021. The season 14 auction saw teams releasing and inducting players to find balance in their ranks for a successful season. Many key players were let go by the team while they would search for new players in the IPL 2021 auction. Here we talk about those cricketers who became the most expensive players in IPL 2021.
Krishnappa Gowtham (INR 9.25 crore)
Karnataka All-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham was purchased by Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League for a whopping INR 9.25 Cr during the IPL 2021 auctions. With this he featured among the top 5 list of the most expensive players in IPL 2021. The All-rounder became the most expensive uncapped player in the auction. He’s also the most expensive Indian player in the recent auctions. Gowtham is a right-handed batsman and off-break bowler, who has played previously for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). The MA Chidambaram Stadium based side is looking for a change of fortune, after a forgettable IPL 2020 season where they had a horrid performance.
Jhye Richardson (INR 14 crore)
The Australian Right-arm fast bowler Jhye Avon Richardson was purchased by Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League for a whopping INR 14 crore during the IPL 2021 auctions. With this he featured among the top 5 list of the most expensive players in IPL 2021. Richardson, with this purchase, also became the second most expensive bowler in the Indian Premier League auctions.
Glenn Maxwell (INR 14.25 crore)
The Australian All-rounder Glenn James Maxwell was purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore team in the Indian Premier League for a whopping INR 14.25 Cr during the IPL 2021 auctions. With this Maxwell featured among the top 5 list of the most expensive players in IPL 2021. Maxwell is a right-handed batsman and off-break bowler, who has played previously for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). While Maxwell is known for his blistering innings, his consistency is something Bangalore would want him to improve this season.
Kyle Jamieson (INR 15 crore)

With this he featured among the top 5 list of the most expensive players in IPL 2021. Jamieson is a right-handed batsman and Right-Arm Medium Bowler.
The Virat Kohli led side has had their own set of fortunes, as they have relied a lot on their top two (Kohli-de Villiers) to get them through and the fantastic two have done well in matches but haven’t been that successful to get the team to title finish yet. Team Kohli would expect him to add the necessary dimension to their team, something that can win them the trophy which has eluded them so far.
Chris Morris (INR 16.25 crore)
South African All-rounder Christopher Henry Morris was purchased by Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League for a whopping INR 16.25 Cr during the IPL 2021 auctions. Morris is a right-handed batsman and a medium pace bowler, who had played previously for Delhi Capitals & Royal Challengers Bangalore. Chris Morris also broke all existing records to become the highest-paid cricketer of the IPL. Rajasthan Royals would expect him to be the inspiration they want in their team to lift the Indian Premier League trophy.
While Overseas players took four out of top 5 slots in the highest grossers in the IPL auctions, one Indian Player also featured among the top 5. These were the pick of the purchase during the IPL 2021 auctions, held in Chennai in February 2021. Hope you liked the content; don’t forget to put in your thoughts & questions as comments.
