The ATP 2019 Men’s tennis season has been very exciting and competitive. Young players made attempts to thwart the old guard and were successful to some extent. We take a look at the 5 players who won most matches in 2019.
5. Roger Federer
Federer holds the record of 2nd most all time singles match wins after Jimmy Connors. The great Swiss won 53 matches in 2019 at the cost of 10 defeats.
These wins included a road to Wimbledon final, Roland Garros semi-final and titles at Miami, Basel, Halle and Dubai.
4. Rafael Nadal
The great Spaniard has been the standout player of 2019. In spite of pulling out of 3 Masters Tournaments and retiring midway at Indian Wells and Paris open, Nadal won 53 matches in 2019 win just 7 defeats.
This included victories in 2 Grand Slams of French and US Open. Rafa also won 2 Masters 1000 events, one each at Canada and Rome.
3. Stefanos Tsitsipas
The Greek is now a regular feature of ATP top 10 singles rankings. He had a dream 2019 which included Nitto Year End Championship title, Australian Open semi-final and wins over the Big 3.

All this raised Tsitsipas’s win tally to 54 in 2019 at the cost of 25 defeats.
2. Novak Djokovic
The Serb remained World Number 1 for the most part of 2019. He won 2 Grand Slam in the season at Australian Open and Wimbledon. Two Masters titles also were won by him at Madrid and Paris.
Djokovic won 54 matches in the season at the cost of 11 defeats. The Serb might not have finished the year 2019 as World Number 1 but the season has been one of the best in his career.
1. Daniil Medvedev
This Russian powerhouse came of age after the Grass Court Season. His US Hard Court swing was a dream run with finals in Washington, Canada and the US Open.
This was also accompanied by the Cincinnati Masters title. The Russian continued his form in Asia with title at St Petersburg and Shanghai Masters.
The form and fitness began to fade towards the closing part of the season but Medvedev still finished 2019 as the winner of most singles matches. He won 59 matches in the year at the cost of 21 losses.
