Islamabad: Pakistani bowler Mohammad Hafeez is scheduled to undertake a series of tests regarding his bowling action in Brisbane later this month.
He was reported in 2014 while bowling during the first Test match held in Abu Dhabi against New Zealand. He faced being reported during a Test match post-clearance in a re-test, against Sri Lanka at Galle and was subsequently banned thereafter.
According the regulations laid down by the International Cricket Council, a bare minimum of a 1 year suspension is levied, to a player if he has been found being reported consecutively for the second time in two years, even after having an assessment done of his bowling and been cleared of it,
The testing is scheduled to take place on the 17th of this month in the Australian city, an ICC spokesman stated on Wednesday. He faced a ban from bowling in international cricket, last year after he was reported for the second time consecutively in a year.
The Pakistani Cricket Board wished that Hafeez undergo testing at an ICC-accredited bio-mechanical laboratory, situated in Brisbane.
Furthermore because he could potentially join the Pakistan Team on its tour to Australia, once cleared in his assessment report of his test, within a waiting period of two weeks.
Pakistan starts its tour with the first Test at Brisbane on the 15th of December.
in a tour that will contain three Test matches and five one-day internationals.
The bowler is expected to leave for Brisbane on November 14.
