Jharkhand is among the weaker teams of Indian Domestic Cricket, hasn’t won a Ranji Trophy or Irani Cup or Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Ishan Kishan
The Bodh Gaya born left handed wicket-keeper batsman is among the IPL Cricketers from Bihar. Kishan started his domestic career with Jharkhand in 2014 as Bihar was in the 18 years of exclusion from domestic cricket tournaments. Ishan was picked by Gujarat Lions in 2016 and was part of the team for two seasons before he was picked by Mumbai Indians during IPL 2018 auctions.
Kishan, since then, has been part of the Wankhede Stadium based IPL franchise as he features among the Jharkhand Players in IPL 2021. Ishan’s best season was in 2020 when he scored 516 runs at an average & strike rate of 57.33 & 145.76 respectively.
Shahbaz Nadeem
The Muzaffarpur born left arm orthodox bowler is also among the Cricketers from Bihar who had to move to Jharkhand as Bihar wasn’t a part of Indian domestic cricket system. Nadeem started his domestic career with Jharkhand in 2004 and made his debut in Indian Premier League in 2011 when he was picked by Delhi Daredevils. Nadeem has been part of the Indian T20 tournament since then, though he hasn’t been among the top wicket takers of any IPL season.
The Left Arm spinner, Shahbaz, has been playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad since 2019 as he is also among the Jharkhand Players in IPL 2021. Nadeem had the best season for him in 2013 when he picked 9 wickets for his franchise team.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni
The best wicket-keeper batsman to come through Indian Domestic circuit, MS Dhoni has achieved whatever was at display in record books. Dhoni started his domestic career with Bihar in 1999 before moving to Jharkhand in 2004. Dhoni would go on to become the most successful Indian captain and the only captain to win all three ICC tournaments.
Just a year after his first ICC tournament win, Indian Premier League started and Dhoni would start as a captain of Chennai Super Kings. MS, since, then has been part of the franchise except the two years this franchise was banned from the T20 tournament. MS Dhoni is leading the MA Chidambaram side into IPL 2021 as he is the most popular among the Jharkhand Players in IPL 2021.
Saurabh Tiwary, Anukul Roy, and Virat Singh are other cricketers who represent Jharkhand Players in IPL 2021 with Tiwary being one of the older names while Roy & Virat to be from the younger lot.
