Kolkata: ISL debutants Jamshedpur FC have secured the services of Senegalese striker Talla N’diaye for the upcoming edition of the Indian Super League.
Talla thus becomes Jamshedpur’s seventh foreign recruit, after Moura, Tiri, Doutie, Belfort, Bikey and Trinidade.
The 31-year old has earlier played for clubs like FCA Aurrilac, Fontenay-Foot-Vendée and Safa Beirut FC, from where he was acquired as a free transfer.
Talla, who always wanted to play in India was an excited man after joining the Jamshedpur FC team and said, “I can’t express my feeling in joining Jamshedpur FC. I wanted to play in India since a long time and finally the opportunity presented itself and I couldn’t say no to it. I am happy to know that our gaffer Steve Coppell rates me high and wants me to make a difference to the team. I am looking forward to joining my teammates during the pre-season and work hard to achieve our ultimate goal. i.e. the championship.”
Steve Coppell, the head coach of the new side too was an excited man at this announcement and said that the Senegalese will be an important part of his plans for the ISL, which is going to be a highly competitive tournament from the fourth edition onwards.
“I am really pleased that Talla has agreed to sign for Jamshedpur FC and I am sure that he will do well for us. This is an important signing for us as we continue the preparations to be ready for the new season, ” said Coppell, who had earlier led the Kerala Blasters to the finals of the tournament last year.
