Indian Premier League (IPL) will hold its player’s auction for its 10th season, which will also be the final edition which marks the end of the existing 10 year contract, in Bengaluru next month.
The governing council of IPL decided that the IPL franchise’s workshop will be organized in Dubai.
It has come to light that various centres across Maharashtra such as Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur will be allowed to conduct matches for the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League which started in 2008 in great hype.
Last season, the IPL matches which were earlier scheduled to be played in the state were later on shifted outside the state after there was an outrage over the stadiums overusing water for maintenance when the state was suffering through severe drought.
The operational issues of the gold minted league were also discussed by the IPL governing council. It was decided in the meet that the defending champions of IPL season 9, Hyderabad Sunrisers will host the opening ceremony and the finals of season 10 as per norms.
BCCI president Anurag Thakur, Secretary Ajay Shirke, GC chairman Rajeev Shukla, former India captain Sourav Ganguly, Jharkhand Cricket Association chief Amitabh Choudhary and Punjab Cricket Association President MP Pandove were present in the meeting.
Earlier, Suspended IPL team, Rajasthan Royals, has moved Delhi High Court for speedy disposal of its appeal before a tribunal against a penalty of Rs 100 crore imposed on it and its investors by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for violation of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
Jaipur IPL Cricket Pvt Ltd, which owns Rajasthan Royals, told Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva that its appeal against the penalty has been pending before the Appellate Tribunal for Foreign Exchange since 2013 and no decision has been arrived at till date.
