IPL 2025 Delhi Capitals climbed to the second position in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 points table after a convincing seven-wicket win against Sunrisers. On Sunday, the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
Chasing a target of 162, Delhi Capitals displayed a strong batting performance, with opener Prithvi Shaw leading the charge with a fluent 67 off 42 balls. Rishabh Pant provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten 38, guiding his team to victory in just 17.3 overs. Earlier, SRH struggled to build partnerships despite a solid 45 from Abhishek Sharma, as Delhi’s bowlers, led by Anrich Nortje and Kuldeep Yadav, restricted them to a below-par total.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans moved up to third place in the standings after a comprehensive 36-run win over Mumbai Indians. Shubman Gill starred with the bat, scoring a quickfire 82, while Mohit Sharma’s three-wicket haul ensured MI remained on the backfoot throughout the chase. With this result, Mumbai Indians dropped to ninth place, having lost both of their opening matches.
On Friday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their dominant run, securing a thumping victory against Chennai Super Kings at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. RCB’s captain Virat Kohli led from the front with a scintillating 91*, while Glenn Maxwell’s all-round performance helped dismantle CSK. With two wins in as many matches, RCB maintained its position at the top of the table with an impressive net run rate of 2.266.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, after their latest defeat, slipped to seventh place. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings, with one win and one loss, currently sit in eighth position. Rajasthan Royals, yet to register a win this season, remains at the bottom of the table with a poor net run rate of -1.882.
